During the coronavirus pandemic, our primary concern is the health and safety of our home and business self-storage customers, as well as our dedicated SureStore team. As in Europe during this difficult period, the UK government has stated that the self-storage industry will continue to operate throughout the lockdown and provide support for keyworkers and those in unavoidable situations and require self-storage.

Charities

At several of our SureStore locations, we provide self-storage services and trade counter space to charities who work within the local community. During these unprecedented and testing times, we have continued to work with these organisations and assist them in providing this much-needed support. This includes providing space for charities such as food bank support teams, the homeless and low-income families who are continuing to operate safely within the UK Government guidelines over this crisis period.

Essential Cleaning Companies

We also provide self-storage for several cleaning companies who keep their essential cleaning and disinfectant products with us servicing the NHS. These companies provide an invaluable service to hospitals across Greater Manchester and Staffordshire, cleaning both public buildings and hospital equipment. We’ve worked closely with these companies to ensure they can continue to operate and have safe, easy access to their self-storage units.

Couriers and Delivery Services

Our courier and delivery service customers have continued to deliver essentials to people and organisations across the country. At SureStore, we’ve worked to ensure that these companies can store and access their goods at our self-storage facilities safely.

Emergency Tradespeople

Tradespeople such as plumbers and electricians working on an emergency call-out basis during the coronavirus period also use our self-storage services. We’ve been able to offer these customers 24/7 remote access when required and the space to bulk store tools and materials.

SureStore aim to be an essential lifeline for our customers, especially the keyworker charities and businesses mentioned. Although we aren’t actively encouraging new home storage customers, we’re here for you in an emergency if you require urgent self-storage.

We have been doing everything we can to work within the government guidelines and the recommendations of the Self Storage Association. Click here to find out more about our remote operations process, including how to book and access your self-storage unit without face-to-face interaction.

To our business customers, we will continue to support our SureStore community and will be here for you after this difficult period to help get you back on your feet.
