We are pleased to share the news that SureStore has launched a new shredding service. With GDPR just around the corner, security has never been more important, so we have launched this service to help local businesses to comply with the new legislation.
Facts about Shredding
• Paper shredding can help the environment. Shredded paper can be turned into toilet paper, kitchen roll, egg cartons and paper cups.
• Recycling 1 tonne of shredded paper can save 17 trees.
• It only takes 7 days for recycled shredded paper to be usable as new paper.
• There are 8 different styles of shredding.
• 50% of new paper has been recycled.
Archiving is an undertaking that many businesses have to comply with, keeping records of patients or clients long after a relationship has expired. When these are mostly physical files, they can take up lots of office space and can be awkward to work around on a daily basis.
One option is to store them with us in our secure units which have 24/7 CCTV security. Another option is to use our shredding service once you’re able to discard the files permanently.
Did you know you can shred more than just paper?
Paper is the obvious item to shred but there are now shredders that can do far more. An industrial shredder has the ability to shred CDs, DVDs, tapes and even hard drives, taking care of the files that exist digitally as well as physically.
On the 25th of May, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), comes into fruition. The new regulation will require companies to put measures in place that will keep their client’s data secure. You will be in breach of data protection when sensitive or confidential data is accessed in an unauthorised fashion. Companies must secure data and have a process in place doing so. Shredding could be considered as an option to help keep data secure.
